Tinu Simeon is the founder and creative mind behind The Cake Empress, a luxury cake studio based in Colchester, Essex.

In 2022, while completing her Law degree, Tinu discovered her true creative passion and launched The Cake Empress in August of that year.

Since then, she has successfully completed her degree and grown The Cake Empress into a rapidly expanding brand renowned for its refined designs, attention to detail, and exquisite flavours.

My Story

Hi, I’m Atinuke (Tinu) Simeon, the founder and creative force behind The Cake Empress. I’m 22 years old and began this sweet journey in 2022.

Growing up, I always knew I was destined to create. At 16, in 2019, I launched my first business - a custom shoe art brand called JTCrepCustoms. What started as a passion project quickly grew into an international success, with clients spanning from Los Angeles to New Zealand. During the Covid lockdown, I was fulfilling over 10 commissioned designs a week, all while studying for my A-Levels remotely.

After graduating college with great results, I began studying Law at The University of Law in London, still running JTCrepCustoms on the side. Yet, something inside me longed for a new creative challenge.

Then came a sunny Saturday in the summer of 2022 - the day everything changed. I decided to bake a cake for my boyfriend’s 19th birthday, just for fun. When friends and family tried it, to my surprise, everyone said - “This is the best cake we’ve ever tasted”. What began as a spontaneous act of love quickly transformed into my next creative venture: The Cake Empress.

Growing up, my father was my biggest inspiration. As a serial entrepreneur himself, he taught me the value of ambition, hard work, and resilience. His example ultimately motivated me to take my business to the next level and perfect my craft- and it’s from that vision that 'The Cake Empress' was born.

Fast forward to 2025, and I’ve had the privilege of creating over 1,000 edible masterpieces, each one crafted with artistry, precision, and love. Alongside running The Cake Empress, I proudly graduated with an Upper Second Class Honours in Law and continue to expand my professional skill set through my part-time role as a Sales Executive, gaining valuable experience to strengthen and grow my business.

Today, The Cake Empress is more than cake artistry - it’s a reflection of elegance, flavour, and passion. Every creation tells a story, blending deliciousness with creativity, and each cake is crafted to make your occasion unforgettable.
